Weekly Offertory Collection and Envelopes

SACRIFICIAL GIVING NORMALLY MEANS GIVING 10% OF YOUR TOTAL INCOME (5% to St. Joseph's Church & 5% to other charities).  Here at St. Joseph's, we encourage the use of our parish envelopes.  WHEN USING YOUR ENVELOPES, YOU ARE MAKING A COMMITMENT OF ACTIVE SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATION IN ALL ASPECTS OF PARISH LIFE, AND YOU INSURE THE PARISH KEEPS ACCURATE ACCOUNTING RECORDS FOR YOUR TAX PURPOSES.  Other charitable causes are included in our monthly packet of envelopes.  These are additional opportunities to donate and this would constitute the remainder of your total giving.

Our Catholic Appeal

Dear Friends in Ministry:

As Jeremiah tells us, " Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord (Jer 17:17)."  Our Catholic Appeal 2010 calls us to renew our trust in the Lord and offer trust and hope to our sisters and brothers throughout the nine counties of our Diocese.
This year I journey with you during these uncertain times that remind each of us that God calls us to a "charity of heart" which is a charity not limited only to those of great means.  This charity of heart allows us all, rich or poor, to look at the world with new eyes - the eyes with which we would like God to look upon us; eyes of mercy, eyes of benevolence, eyes of understanding, eyes of compassion.
I am moved by your offering of your own gifts of time, talent and treasure as we work together to ensure the success of another appeal.  This is not just my appeal, it is yours as well:  it is Our Catholic Appeal.  Each year through Our Catholic Appeal, we are able to more effectively witness to the presence of God's Kingdom here in Central Florida.  Our Catholic Appeal supports our attempt to grow, lead and share our living faith in Him.

Gratefully Yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Thomas G. Wenski
Bishop of Orlando
